2568. James Dearing FAUNTLEROY was born on 4 Apr 1869 in "Oakenham, " Middlesex County, VA. He died on 20 Jul 1943 in "Avoca, " Campbell County, VA. He was buried in "Avoca, " Campbell County, VA. James D. Fauntleroy graduated from V.M.I. in Civil Engineering. He served in the Spansih-American War. He was a government employee in the Phillipines, first as a Sanitary engineer in Manila and later as Governor of the Island of Negros. When he returned to the US, he served as a government employee in the Department of Roads and the Texas Commission of Roads. (Dicken, p.220)

He was married to Frances Hamilton FOX (daughter of Erasmus Hinton FOX and Mary Otey MOORMAN) on 11 Feb 1903. Frances Hamilton FOX was born on 23 Jun 1875. She died on 20 Nov 1941 in Richmond, VA. She was buried in "Avoca, " Campbell County, VA. James Dearing FAUNTLEROY and Frances Hamilton FOX had the following children:
