SIXTH GENERATION

922. John Harrison TERRELL was born on 1 Oct 1801 in Montgomery County, KY. He died on 6 Jan 1867. "In his younger days, he was taught portrait painting by his brother Richardson Terrell..." A numbers of his portraits can be found in New Orleans and it is said he is the artist who painted a portrait of Patrick Henry that hangs in the Virginia State Capitol. Later he and his brothers Richardson and Williamson were involved in the manufacture of spinning wheels and other household furnature. After his brothers moved to Indiana, he studied medicine and became a practicing physician for the rest of his life. (Dicken, p.199)

He was married to Sally MOORE (daughter of Richardson MOORE and Mary ABBETT) on 2 Feb 1823. Sally MOORE was born on 29 Oct 1796 in Henry County, KY. She died on 13 Jan 1856. John Harrison TERRELL and Sally MOORE had the following children:

1703 iv. James Harvey , 2nd TERRELL was born in 1830. He died in 1847.
