THIRD GENERATION

12. Joel TERRELL was born between 1692 and 1695 in New Kent County, Virginia. He died in 1758 in Hanover County, Virginia.
A John D. Terrell, quoted by Emma Dicken (p.61-62), says Joel Terrell was his Grandfather and that his Grandfather's brothers were John, James & Timothy. To date, that is the best evidence for listing Joel as a son of William of Hanover. Joel was born in Hanover, but moved to King William County when he became of age. Later, that part of King William was made into Caroline County. Joel received considerable land from his Father. Along with his Brother-in-law, David Lewis, he also patented land in Albemarle and Goochland.
