He was married to Virginia Jean TAYLOR on 31 Dec 1956. John Lewis (Jack) POWERS and Virginia Jean TAYLOR had the following children:

233 i. Jeffery Taylor POWERS was born on 13 Nov 1958.
Jeff Powers has also done extensive work on the Powers family. He shares my belief that our ancestry goes back through Sampson Power of Lower Norfolk. Jeff shows two sons, Samauel & Sampson, Jr. He says there is a will for Samuel that shows a son Sampson, living in Princess Ann County (now Virginia Beach) about 1752. He believes this is the Sampson Power of Mecklenburg county that we know to be our line.
Jeff lives in Winston Salem, North Carolina, where he works for Wachovia Bank.
