In 1993, he joined the Richmond (Virginia) Police Department.

He was married to Stephanie Lynn GOULD (daughter of Michael Lee GOULD and Patricia Ann COOK) on 22 Jun 1996 in Crestwood Presbyterian Church, Richmond, VA. He was divorced from Stephanie Lynn GOULD in Dec 2005. Stephanie Lynn GOULD was born on 27 Jul 1970 in Waynesboro, VA. Harvey Street POWERS and Stephanie Lynn GOULD had the following children:
