52. Thomas Lynwood RUDD was born on 19 Oct 1894 in Lunenburg County, VA. He died on 30 Jan 1997 in Cumberland, MD. Thomas Lynwood Rudd left the family farm in 1912 to attend Massey Business School in Richmond. He worked for several retailers in Richmond, Lynchburg and Washington. During the first World War, he served in the Coast Artillery near Washington.
In 1919, he went to work for the Goodyear Tire Company. In 1921, he moved to Cumberland, Maryland, and went to work for the Kelly Tire Company. He continued to work for them until his retirement.
Eddie Gray Powers, Irving Powers and Claude Powers all left the farm and came to Cumberland for a while to live with Tom and work at the Kelly Tire plant.

He was married to Melba Jeanette THACKER on 22 Jun 1918. Melba Jeanette THACKER was born on 16 Oct 1896. She died on 14 Aug 1990 in Cumberland, MD. Thomas Lynwood RUDD and Melba Jeanette THACKER had the following children:
