79. Henry Bernice "Jack" POWERS was born on 15 Oct 1914 in Lunenburg County, Virginia. He died on 17 Nov 1982 in Kenbridge, Virginia. He was buried in Kenbridge Cemetary. H.B. "Jack" POWERS attended the public schools of Lunenburg County and graduated from Virginia Tech in 1939. Upon graduation, he went to work for the State as an "Agricultural Extension Agent." His first jobs were in Nansemond and Sussex Counties. Jack POWERS served four years in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, he returned to his native Lunenburg County as an "Agricultural Extension Agent." He died after a long battle with skin cancer.

He was married to Marjorie BRADSHAW (daughter of Percy Thomas BRADSHAW and Lena Mae ELEY) on 14 Jun 1944 in Zuni, Virginia by Rev. G.L. Price. Marjorie BRADSHAW was born on 22 Jul 1916 in Suffolk, VA. Marjorie Bradshaw (or Aunt Margie, as she was known to the author) taught the fourth grade in the Kenbridge Elementary School. Later, she taught and was headmistress at Kenbridge's private academy.
