17. John PAYNTER ⁽²⁾ was born about 1725. He died before 8 Jul 1770 in Sussex County, VA. The estate of John Paynter is recorded 8 Jul 1770 and confirmed 19 Mar 1772 in Sussex Will book B, page 339. However, it is possible, this is the death of this John Paynter's father.

He was married to Mary WILKERSON about 1745 in Surry County, Va.. ⁽²⁾ John PAYNTER and Mary WILKERSON had the following children:
