She was married to Daniel Lewis ADAMS (son of Robert ADAMS and Julia GRAVES) on 14 Apr 1886 in Haw Tree Township, Warren County, NC. ⁽¹⁾ Susan Elizabeth PAYNTER and Daniel Lewis ADAMS had the following children:

9 i. Robert Thomas ADAMS⁽¹⁾ was born on 2 Sep 1887 in Warren County, NC. He died on 15 Oct 1918.
10 ii. Ella Young ADAMS⁽¹⁾ was born on 15 Jun 1889 in Warren County, NC. She died on 30 Jul 1975.
