Elliott was adopted by Moses & Minerva Harris Cook of Ashfield. Elliott was a traveling photographer and at one time was based out of Albany, N. Y. Elliott's wife was Mary "Nannie" Eliza Holton B. 1/19/1854 D. 10.16.1843. Dorcester, Ma. Her step-father was William "Willis" Knowlton a well known photogrpher.
