11. George Michael ELLER ⁽¹⁾ was born on 1 Aug 1723 in Near Hamburg, Germany. He died on 25 Aug 1778 in Frederick County, Maryland. George Michael Eller probably arrived on the ship Phoenix in 1743 (the other strong possibility is the "Saint Andrew") and is believed to be the fourth oldest of the Eller brothers/cousins.
His children moved from the original American home in Germantown (near Philadelphia), Pennsylvania to the south, first to Maryland, then primarily to Wilkes and Ashe Counties, North Carolina.
Considerable published information is available on George Michael Eller, largely as a result of the book "George Michael Eller and Descendants of his in America," compiled by James W. Hook (Published in New Haven, Conn. Oct. 15, 1957). A number of conclusions in the book have proven to be incorrect, but it remains the definitive work on George Michael.
