7. John Jacob ELLER was born about 1715. He died in 1782 in Rowan County, North Carolina. ⁽²⁾ John Jacob is believed to be the oldest of the three brothers (if indeed Christian is a brother). John Jacob Eller (listed as John Jacob Eyler) arrive on 5 Sep 1748 on board the "Edinburgh" from Rotterdam. (Ed Eller, et.al. "John Jacob Eller & his Descendants", 1998)
John Jacob and family moved from Germantown (near Philadelphia), Pennsylvania to the south, primarily to Rowan County, North Carolina. In 1767, he purchased land there.
His story is told by Ed Eller, Gerald Eller and Janine Eller Porter in the massive book "John Jacob Eller & His Descendants" (Wolfe Publishing, Fernandina Beach, FL 32035; 1998) published by the Eller Family Association.

He was married to Maria Eva GOTTGE on 11 Dec 1753 in Red Hill, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Maria Eva GOTTGE was born on 17 Aug 1732 in Germany. She died about 1770 in Rowan County, NC.
